24x36 - the picture I transformed. I used transparent images and imposed the wives behind their men. I feel like the women make the picture complete. The original picture by an unknown artist is missing something. If you look at the men, by themselves, you notice there is no real connection between any of them. They seem to be in their own thoughts. So I added the ladies because I imagine Nelson thinking about those 27 years Winnie held him down; even having to burry their son while he was in jail. I think about MLK knowing he was being threatened - his life and his family's - and still going out and fighting for all of our collective freedoms and equality, and his home getting bombed while his wife Coretta was at home with the children. I think about Mr. Shabazz, after his death up in Jannah-Heaven, witnessing his wife Betty in that fire that was set by their own progeny. And I think about Barack and Michelle and the joy they've shared since their time studying at Harvard together as young#BlackRoyalty, already realized and soon to be recognized by the entire world for reshaping history forever. I think about#BlackLove. I think about dreams. I think about perfection. I pray for some semblance and some symmetry. I see beauty everyday but sometimes I'm just moving too fast to capture the forever, I know, exists in Her.
